OUR FOCUS AREAS
Opening Doors and Creating Opportunities - We are promotors of community empowerment that leads to accelerated economic development. We champion initiatives that enable people to better themselves, build community roots and create economic stability. We see our focus areas, which are our corporate investment activities that have been agreed upon by the board, as the drivers in the fulfilment of our vision. These include:
EDUCATION
• HIV/ Aids awareness and drug prevention programs • Tertiary education bursaries • Employee Educational Assistance Schemes • Educational projects in pre, primary and secondary education
HEALTHCARE
• This will be predominantly focused on HIV/ Aids related issues • Healthcare issues, other than HIV Aids, identified by national governments as a healthcare priority for the country or region.
YOUTH & LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
• The group recognises the importance of investing in youth as the key asset to the country’s future and will support capacity building and support for organisations that are focused on this segment. • The group may also assess proposals for support of individuals with proven leadership ability that requires assistance in the form of a grant, specific project-related funding need.
SPORTS & CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT
• Recognising the importance of deepening sports and cultural values in building communities the group will identify projects that fulfil the basic criteria of proven track record, professional management of activities, adhering to basic governance standards and impact on community participation and sustained growth.
