ACHMAT MOHAMED

Chairman and Trustee

Achmat is the Chairman of the board of trustees of the Foundation. He has over 30 years experience in the motor industry, most of it at Executive level. He currently serves on the boards of two Automotive Component Manufacturers, an Event Management Company as well as a Consulting business. He is Chairman of the board of Eastcape Training Centre and chair the REMCOM of Engeli Enterprise Development. Achmat also serves on the advisory board of the Nelson Mandela University’s Business School.

ALFRED ANTHONY DA COSTA

Trustee

Alfred Da Costa is the CEO of MIKS Investments, Ilithe Management Services and Nomvuso Investments. Alfred also serves on various boards, these include; Algoa FM, Priontex, Engeli Enterprise Development and Miks Gaming. Alfred also chairs the advisory board of the Nelson Mandela University’s Business School.

NEIL HAROLD CAMPHER

Trustee

Neil is Managing Director and co-owner of Campher and Sebata Investments cc trading as CS Innovations, a management consulting firm specialising in socio-economic projects from design, implementation and advisory services to enterprise development and entrepreneurship training within private and public/community sector. Under CS Innovation, Neil is the socio-economic projects team leader for the Mandela Bay Development Agency's (MBDA), Helenvale Safety and Peace through Urban Upgrade (SPUU) project, a joint international co-operation between the NMB Metro and funded by the German Development, KfW to the tune of EUR5 million. Neil also manages the GIZ's Global Alliance project with Nike in the Designed to Move pilot project in the Nelson Mandela Bay area as implementing consulting for MIKS Foundation.

Previously, Neil held the positions as founder member and executive director of Ukuvula Investments and was responsible for coordination of group marketing, communications and procurement services as well as non-executive roles on the boards of Dinatla Investment Holdings, Ukuvula investments Procurements Management Services and as founding trustee of the Northern Areas People Development Initiative, the latter an independent and non-political civil society, movement focusing on developments for a better northern areas of Port Elizabeth.

PERCIVAL JOHN SMITH

Trustee

Percival is better known as the past HR director at Volkswagen South Africa (VWSA). Percy is also a Trustee of the VWSA Community Trust and Pension Fund. He has many years of experience in a Fiduciary role at VWSA. He currently heads up his own consultancy service .
