2022 NMB Leadership Summit

The ninth annual Nelson Mandela Bay Leadership Summit, aptly themed “Leadership Skills to inform the complexity of the demands on leadership”, took the form of a hybrid event, which was hosted on 8 and 9 June 2022 at the Boardwalk Conference Centre in Summerstrand, Gqeberha, and online.

Following two years of the Leadership Summit being presented as strictly online events, participants enjoyed rubbing shoulders with high profile thought leaders. Speakers took part in the presentations and panel discussions which tackled contemporary issues affecting the economy, business and society, over the two-day period.

This year, as a lead up to the Leadership Summit 2022, the organisers introduced a new element by inviting young, upcoming leaders to participate in Conscious Leadership Conversations (CLCs), from March – May, at events facilitated by Interactive Global Presenter, Strategic Facilitator and Conversational Catalyst Bev Hancock.  The focus of these events was to expose the youth to active business leaders and role models, and identify crucial areas for development, shared learning and collaboration.

The Conscious Leadership Conversations (CLCs) building up to the Leadership Summit was the brainchild of Engeli Enterprise Development:  These CLCs allowed for robust and authentic conversations between industry leaders and youth on how best to create enabling experiences for youth, while also creating safe spaces for youth talent and leadership incubation within our workplaces.”
